We are committed to consulting the public, our service users, partners and other interested groups as part of providing effective services that meet the needs of the people of South Derbyshire. We recognise that democracy is healthier and stronger if local people feel that their views are being listened to and taken into account when decisions are being made. A key outcome in the Council's Corporate Plan 2007/10 is that local people are better informed about our work and more involved in decisions about services.
Consultation is essentially about two-way communication. It's about involving people to gain an understanding of their ideas, concerns and opinions. By seeking your views and then acting on the results, we can ensure that our services better reflect your needs and aspirations.
