Corporate Plan 2008 to 2011 – Priorities for Action

We have launched our refreshed Corporate Plan 2008 to 2011 with effect from the 1st April 2008. This refreshed plan contains the priorities that we identified in the Corporate Plan 2007 to 2010 with actions that will enable us to deliver over the next year. We have also highlighted what success will look like and have identified the financial resources that have been allocated to help us deliver on these priorities.

Vision and Themes

This refreshed Corporate Plan sets out our vision for South Derbyshire along with our priorities and actions for delivering local services. Our vision is to:

'Make South Derbyshire a healthier, more prosperous and safer place to live...by offering value for money services'.

Our ambition for all aspects of life in the District comes from the vision/themes set out in our Corporate Plan. The Corporate Plan will be the means by which the aspirations and needs of our residents shape our services. We have six themes

• Theme 1 - Safer and Healthier Communities
• Theme 2 - You at the Centre
• Theme 3 - Higher Quality Services
• Theme 4 - Prosperity for All
• Theme 5 - Rural South Derbyshire
• Theme 6 - Stronger in the Region

Under each theme, we have set out our key priorities and proposed actions for 2008/9. These actions have been allocated to Heads of Service who will then monitor and report on progress in these areas.

Corporate Plan 2007 to 2010

The plan sets out our vision for South Derbyshire along with our plans and priorities for delivering local services.

It also describes how we will work with partners to improve the quality of life for all our residents, the vitality of our community groups and the success of local businesses.
