Benefits and Discounts
Council Tax Discounts
We also administer the Housing and Council Tax Benefit Scheme
Debt Recovery
To ensure that everyone pays their fair share of council tax and rates, we work hard to recover any unpaid debts, using the national code of practice. Methods of recovering debts include action in the Magistrates' Court, the use of Bailiffs and the use of attachments of earnings or benefits so that money can be collected directly from source.
Fraud
We also carry out fraud investigations to ensure that benefits are paid only to those who are entitled to have them. Read more about Fraud Investigation
