We protect the environment by providing a high quality refuse collection and street cleaning service. We are committed to:
- collecting waste in your area on the same day each week
- putting your bin back where you left it
- clearing up any rubbish we spill
We operate a kerbside collection service that aims to collect paper, foil, glass bottles and jars, tins and cans, and textiles for recycling. We also provide a brown bin kerbside composting scheme. In addition to the kerbside services, recycling centres are located throughout the area. Recycling centres accept newspapers, magazines, card, glass, cans, plastic bottles and textiles.

Derbyshire Waste Strategy
Derbyshire County Council, Derby City Council and the eight district and borough councils have drawn up a strategy for managing household rubbish called "Looking After Derbyshire's Waste".
The strategy details the joint approach of Derbyshire's councils to deal with our rubbish over the next 20 years and addresses the problems associated with sending rubbish to landfill as this is no longer acceptable on such a large scale.
More information and the full strategy documents are available on Derbyshire County Council's website.
Please select from the list on the left under Rubbish, Waste and Recycling, for further information.
