We let and manage Council owned garages, which can be available for rent at competitive rates.  Garages are for personal private use only and not for commercial activities.

You will not be offered a garage or garage plot if you have rent arrears.

If you would like to apply for a garage or garage plot you will need to complete the Garage Application form.  You will be then entered on the appropriate list and we will advise you when your turn is reached. How long you have to wait for a garage depends on the site you want and how many other people are waiting.

Current costs for garages are £6.26 per week for Council tenants and £7.36 for private tenants and leaseholders.

Garage plots are 79p per week for Council tenants and 93p for private tenants and leaseholders.

Anyone can apply to rent a council garage or garage plot, but we give priority to existing Council tenants.  You can download the application form here.  The form also shows the areas of our garage sites.

Please note that all Council owned garages are to be used for the sole purpose of parking your vehicle and not to be used as a storage facility.

Do not keep more than 2 gallons of petrol (apart from any petrol in the tank of the motor car) and not more than 5 gallons of lubricating oil stored on the premises and take all reasonable and proper precautions against fire occurring on the premises.

We require 28 days advance notice, in writing, if you want to give up your garage. When you give us back the keys the garage should be empty and swept through. We will charge you if we have to clear it.
