Opened in 1994, the Centre is being developed by South Derbyshire District Council and The Forestry Commission, in partnership with The National Forest Company.
There is plenty for you to see and do, from quiet places to enjoy the countryside, to family-fun activities such as orienteering trails, cycle hire and fishing.
The Visitor Centre is surrounded by 62 hectares of land, containing young trees, ponds, gardens and meadows and the Rolls-Royce Greenheart Lake.
Talks, workshops, parties, guided walks, meetings and school visits can also be arranged. Details can be obtained from the Centre Managers or the on-site Environmental Education staff.
Luxury Timber Lodge Accommodation
If you wish to explore the area for a little longer than just a day, why not stay in our forest accommodation?
There are four luxury timber lodges on-site - each sleeping up to 10 guests. They all have two bathrooms, and are equipped for guests with mobility and disability issues. Set in a secluded area on the site, they are the perfect location for a short break away from it all.
The Hub in the Forest Cafe
With panoramic views over the site, The Hub offers hot and cold snacks, drinks and light meals. The cafe is fully licensed and open daily from 10.00am. The room / catering are available for hospitality and parties.
Seating capacity is 64 persons.
