Whatever your situation nextstep in Derbyshire can help you decide on a new direction, develop new skills, get onto a course or gain that job. There is a free information helpline: 0800 269 468. nextstep is a national service funded by the Learning and Skills Council and offers information and advice about learning and work to adults aged 20 and over. All adults can access free information, and for those without many qualifications (ie. fewer than five GCSEs or an NVQ level 2 or equivalent), nextstep will offer a free, one to one advice session.
For 14 to 19 year olds Routes Ahead has been developed as a searchable internet-based prospectus of 14 to 19 learning opportunities in Derby and Derbyshire. Routes Ahead is learner-centred and gives young people impartial, accurate and up-to-date information on all the options available to them. It has been developed by Connexions Derbyshire in partnership with Derby City Council, Aimhigher Derbyshire, Derbyshire County Council, Derbyshire Education and Business Partnership, Derbyshire Learning and Skills Council and The Derbyshire Network
