• There has been a rise in acquisitive crime, which could be connected to the economic downturn. We are working closely with the police and the community to spread the message around, making sure cars and property are left secure, doors and windows locked, items of value kept out of sight in vehicles and so on.
• Scams and cons are on  the increase. The golden rule is that if a letter, email, leaflet or phone call sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
• You can find a local trader you can trust using Derbyshire's Trusted Trader scheme.
• Battling to make the money go round is stressful. Don't bottle it up:
