Festival of Leisure 2017

It was carnival time in the park!

This year's Festival of Leisure took place on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 June 2017 at Maurice Lea Memorial Park, Church Gresley.

There was a packed programme of entertainment with appearances from the Stunt Riders Live Tour, the Spectacular Knights of the Crusades, Japanese and Djembe drumming and local dancing talent  in the main arena; along with our regular fairground rides, craft marquee, People Express and Made in the National Forest marquee, a sports arena with lots of activities to try out, the Magic Attic and live music from Touch FM.

Emccan once again supported the Festival with spectacular carnival costumes and performers from across the region. The amazing ZCC Brass Band (who stole the show!), a huge butterfly, bees and a caterpillar roamed the park bringing smiles wherever they went. Lots of people tried out their dance moves by joining in with the free Carnival Dance Workshop and Carnival Creatures Parade on Sunday.

Safe to say it was another good year and now the planning starts for 2018!
