Safer neighbourhood meetings

We hold quarterly meetings in each of the six areas to which representatives of the statutory agencies and members of the public are invited.

The Safer Neighbourhood Scheme has been developed in South Derbyshire and is being co-ordinated by the Safer South Derbyshire Partnership. It aims to ensure that public concerns relating to Crime and Disorder issues are recognised and acted upon by providing dedicated and accountable resources to dedicated geographical area. We use a multi-agency approach to tackle problems and hold quarterly meetings in each of the 6 Areas to which representatives of the statutory agencies and members of the public are invited. The aim is to reduce the fear of crime and create safer environments.

  • North West Area 1: Etwall - Hilton - Hatton - Burnaston - Egginton - Foston - Scropton - Church Broughton
  • Mercia Area 2: Willington - Findern - Repton - Newton Solney - Twyford - Bretby - Stenson Fields
  • North East Area 3: Melbourne - Aston - Weston - Shardlow - Thulston - Elvaston - Barrow-on-Trent - Smisby
  • Central Area 4: Swadlincote - Woodville - Church Gresley - Hartshorne  
  • Newhall and Midway Area 5: Newhall - Midway - Stanton
  • South Area 6: Overseal - Linton - Netherseal - Coton - Castle Gresley- Walton-on-Trent - Lullington - Rosliston

Safer Neighbourhoods Funding

The Safer Neighbourhood Fund is a small grants programme available to neighbourhood groups. The aim of the programme is to give local people the opportunity to initiate and develop projects to make their community safer.
