The main function of the Finance Services Division is to provide statutory financial management and control, together with the provision of internal support to other Council Departments.

The main work is around:

  • Maintenance of the council's accounts and financial records
  • Maintenance and development of financial management systems
  • Co-ordination of budget preparation and monitoring
  • Payroll services
  • Creditor payments
  • General debt collection
  • Treasury management
  • VAT and other taxation issues
  • Insurance
