Play day at Maurice Lea

29 July 2010

An afternoon extravaganza of activities has been organised in South Derbyshire to help youngsters beat the boredom during the summer holidays.

Fun and games will be available in abundance at Maurice Lea Memorial Park, in Church Gresley, on Wednesday, August 4.

Arts and crafts, giant games, a bouncy castle and more besides have been lined up between noon and 4pm.

The event, organised by South Derbyshire District Council to mark National Play Day, is free.

Council Play Officer Marc Scott said: “Playing is a fundamental part of childhood and this is a great opportunity for children and their parents to try out new ways to play.

“This event is a celebration of all that is fun and exciting about play and we hope all local residents with children will come and give it a try.”
