Half Term Fun

5 February 2010

A series of drop in sessions will be held at Rosliston Forestry Centre to help youngsters beat the boredom at half term.

Activities have been organised throughout the week beginning February 15 as part of the Get Active in the Forest initiative.

Children will be asked to go for gold during archery sessions being held on Monday, February 15 and Friday, February 19.

A Wildlife Watch drop in session will take place at the National Forest attraction on Tuesday, February 16. Those attending will be able to show off their creative side by making a paper pot and planting a sunflower seed.

Laser Combat sessions have been organised for Wednesday, February 17 and Thursday, February 18. Youngsters can play combat games in the woods with laser guns.

Tor Pitts, Assistant Development Manager for Get Active in The Forest, said: “Many parents struggle to find enough to do with their kids over the school holidays. These activities are lots of fun and teach children valuable skills in the great outdoors.”

All activities are dependant on the weather. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The sessions, costing £2.50 each, are being held between 2pm and 4pm and are run on a 'Queue and Do' basis.

Further information is available by telephoning the Get Active in the Forest team on 01283 563483.
