Construction school hoping to plaster the opposition

7 February 2012

A training centre is looking to show off its true colours after becoming the first business to sign up to Swadlincote’s Pancake Races.

Chameleon School of Construction, on the town’s Boardman Industrial Estate, is entering an A and a B team for the big day on Tuesday, February 21.

Staff are busy preparing their technique to plaster the opposition – and are encouraging other firms to rise to their challenge in aid of Sport Relief.

Owner Jason Duncan said: “Last year’s pancake races looked like a lot of fun and we are chomping at the bit to test out the course.

“Our trainees and staff were more than willing to give up half an hour of their lunch break to take part and we would urge other local employers to follow suit. “

His wife Angelica added: “It’s a great occasion and a chance for everyone to get together, showcase Swadlincote at its finest and help raise funds for an important charity.”

The races will take place between noon and 2pm on The Delph. Teams of four are invited to enter as soon as possible for just £4.

Forms are available at www.south-derbys.gov.uk or by calling Swadlincote Tourist Information Centre on 01283 222848.
