Another Lost Dog!

30 January 2012

Our Safer Neighbourhood Wardens have found another lost dog, who now needs a new home.
Lost English Springer Spaniel

Description

English Springer Spaniel

Date found:  Friday 27 January 2012
Location: Roaming in Melbourne
Type: English Springer Spaniel - Male
Age: Estimated around 4-6 years old
Temperament: An obedient and well trained dog

The dog appears to be well looked after and he has been micro-chipped. The contact details associated with the micro-chip suggest that he once lived in Nottingham, but we have been unable to locate his owner and nobody has reported him missing.

He now needs to be re-homed - can you help?

What do I do if I have lost my dog?

Straying dogs will normally be rounded up and taken to the council kennels.

Before we can let you have your dog back, you will have to pay a fee to cover kennelling, any veterinary fees and our administration costs. You must also arrange to collect the dog from the kennels.

We have a duty under the Environmental Protection Act 1990 section 149 to collect and detain stray dogs.  We also have the power to dispose of the dogs if they remain unclaimed.  In the vast majority of circumstances unclaimed dogs are re-homed.
