Council Tax

More than 40,000 properties are banded for council tax purposes, as well as over 2,100 national non-domestic rate properties such as shops, factories, public houses and petrol stations. Most domestic properties are subject to council tax, which helps to pay for the cost of local services. One bill per property will be issued regardless of whether it is an owned or rented property.

How much council tax do I need to pay?

Every property is allocated a valuation band from 'A' to 'H'. Each band pays a different amount of council tax (A the lowest, to H the highest). Find your Council Tax band.
