Housing benefit and council tax benefit are means-tested benefits that we administer on behalf of the Department of Works and Pensions. These benefits can help you to pay your rent and council tax if you are on a low income.

Changes to Local Housing Allowance from January 2012

There will be a further change to Local Housing Allowance from January 2012 that will affect single adults aged under 35.  Further information is available at the bottom of the  Changes to Housing Benefit and Local Housing Allowance (LHA) page.
