We are responsible for compiling the electoral register for South Derbyshire as well as organizing all elections within the district, such as the election of district councillors, county councillors, parish councillors, MPs and MEPs and administering referendums.
Elections to the District Council are held every four years and are normally combined with parish council elections. The last district/parish elections were in May 2011. County Council elections are held every four years. The next county council elections will be held in 2013.
Parliamentary elections are held every five years, but an election can be called at any time before the five year term is complete. The last parliamentary election was held on 6 May 2010.
European parliamentary elections are held every five years. The district of South Derbyshire forms part of the East Midlands region. The next European elections will be held in 2014.
