Citizens' panel - Viewpoint

South Derbyshire District Council’s Citizens’ Panel - 'Viewpoint'  was set up in 2001, in partnership with Derbyshire County Council and Derbyshire Constabulary. The panel is a useful way to find out residents' views on different subjects and is the main way that we keep in touch with local residents and ensure that we continues to deliver the services they want and need, as well as improving how those services are delivered.

The panel is one way that we can:

  • understand which issues are a priority for the community
  • reduce duplication and consultation overload with local communities
  • evaluate how well it is currently providing its services
  • track the views of residents over time to see if their opinions change, and
  • identify opportunities for improving services in the future.
