Most education services in this area are provided by Derbyshire County Council but we do provide some education activities for adults and children.

However, South Derbyshire District Council staff do provide some education activities for adults and children, as follows:

South Derbyshire Environmental Education Project  
- Provides environmental education visits and advice for schools at Rosliston Forestry Centre, other sites in the District, and in school grounds.

Waste Development Team  

Can help schools and their Eco-Committees develop recycling projects, eg:

  • Recycling vehicle visits (multi-material and refuse vehicle)
  • Mobile education and exhibition vehicle in conjunction with Derbyshire County Council
  • Visits to recycling and compost plants
  • Recycling plays
  • Cash for Trash (this a money raising scheme for shools dependant on the number of tonnes of paper collected)
  • Textile collection scheme for schools (this a money raising scheme for schools dependant on the number of tonnes of textiles collected)
