Following the successful completion of the first phase of the Swadlincote Town Centre Masterplan the council is now progressing Phase 2.
Our vision is to make South Derbyshire a healthier, more prosperous, safer place to live. The Swadlincote Masterplan will help us to involve the community in decisions about the town centre, safeguard our environment for future generations, support local businesses and create a climate for inward investment. Improvements to the physical environment of the town centre will help to develop Swadlincote as a key visitor destination within the National Forest.
The full plan was approved in June 2006 and can be viewed below. The council will use the plan over the next ten years and beyond to guide future improvements, to obtain external funding including contributions from developers and to promote development and inward investment in the town.
The Derby and Derbyshire Economic Partnership have part funded both the masterplan and the first phase of its implementation.
