What is ECO Funding?

ECO stands for Energy Company Obligation and has replaced the traditional forms of grants for energy efficiency improvements to your home. ECO funding is provided by the ‘big six’ energy companies; British Gas, EDF, Eon, Npower, Scottish Power and SSE. These companies have an obligation to help people reduce their carbon footprints and cut energy bills.

There are 2 parts to ECO:

Carbon Saving Eco – this is aimed at ‘hard to treat’ properties where significant carbon savings can be made such as, houses with solid walls.

Affordable Warmth ECO – aimed at low income or vulnerable households. It will pay for simple insulation measures (loft and cavity) and in some cases, a new boiler.

If you would like more information or wish to apply for ECO funding, please contact your gas & electricity provider.

In addition we have created a grant finder service for local grants and the Energy Savings Trust have a national database which you could also try.

It may also be worth contacting your energy supplier(s) to see what offers they have for their customers.

Standard: We will respond to enquiries within five working days
