We are part of South Derbyshire District Council, and based at Rosliston Forestry Centre. We run environmental events for the public, like Apple Day, and projects like the Free Tree Scheme. We run school visits at Rosliston and in parks and school grounds. Most of our work is done in partnership with others, like local schools, the National Forest Company, the Forestry Commission and Rolls-Royce plc.
Our details are at www.roslistonforestrycentre.co.uk , email rosliston@south-derbys.gov.uk or ring 01283 535039

Derbyshire County Council’s Countryside Service

Derbyshire County Council’s Countryside Service manages a wonderful variety of sites and facilities across Derbyshire outside of the Peak District National Park. We are responsible for providing and promoting access to the wider countryside through the use of the extensive network of rights of way, greenways and trails across the whole county. We undertake statutory duties concerning Public Rights of Way, Tree Preservation Orders and the management of open access land. Sites and facilities are managed for countryside recreation & conservation or enhancement, ranging from large country parks to picnic sites, woodlands, wetlands, canals & reservoirs for you to enjoy. Some of the larger sites have visitor centres and many have facilities for disabled visitors.

Tutbury Hydro Electric Project (THEP)

Tutbury Hydro Electric Project (THEP) team are a group of local residents who aim to reinstate the Mill Fleam in Tutbury/Hatton, so that a Hydro Electric scheme can be installed to generate electricity. This would create an environmentallt friendly source of power and benefit the environment by unblocking the Mill Fleam.

Findern Footpaths Group

Findern Footpaths Group was formed in 1998. We care for, improve and promote the 7 miles of public rights of way and the 7 acres of wildlife sites we have here in Findern. We have restored 2 ponds, and created wildlife sites including woodland, managed scrubland, wetlands, wildflower meadows and hedges. We organise a programme of events every year including guided walks, bio blitzes, workshops and wildlife activity days for the children. We look forward to seeing as many people as possible walking in our countryside or at one of our events.
