You are paying - to clear up other people's dumped rubbish!
Fly-tipping is illegally dumped rubbish - and we spend £71,000 of your council tax each year clearing it up.
Fly-tipping is when rubbish is dumped, often left at the side of roads and in lay-bys. We are obliged to clear up any rubbish dumped on public land. Any kinds of rubbish may be dumped – sometimes it is household rubbish in black bags, sometimes tyres, tree cuttings or industrial rubbish.
No one wants to see lots of rubbish.
Take responsibility for your rubbish and make sure it is dealt with properly. In an effort to reduce the number of fly-tipping incidences we provide a special refuse collection for large items.
Report any fly-tipping you see using the form below, use our FREE hotline number 0800 587 2349 or use our special CleanTeam email address waste.cleansing@south-derbys.gov.uk
Don't employ people to take away rubbish unless you are sure they are legitimate businesses. All proper businesses collecting waste should have a Waste Carriers Licence. To see if a waste carrier is licensed, you can either phone 0708 506 506 or check online at public register page of the Environment Agency's website
