Household waste recycling centre (HWRC)

The Civic Amenity / Household Waste Recycling Centre (HWRC) at Newhall is operated by Derbyshire County Council.

Following feedback from the "Ideas into Action" initiative, and the concern that there is only one civic amenity site in South Derbyshire, South Derbyshire District Council is lobbying the county council to increase provision.

As an interim measure, we are reinstating the free Saturday morning Refuse Freighter service for those areas of the district that are more than five miles away from the Newhall site.
