Roads, highways and pavements

Derbsyhire County Council is responsible for highways in South Derbyshire. The links below are all external links.

Roadworks

Information about roadworks is available via Elgin (Electronic Local Government Information Network), which allows you to find roadworks information using a map interface or searching by date and area.

It is based on a specification and pilot from an East Midlands Partnership involving the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister (now Department of Communities and Local Government), Ordnance Survey, East Midlands Development Agency, East Midlands Regional Assembly and East Midlands Regional Local Government Association.

The pilot, called East Midlands Partnership Regional e-Government Spatial System (EMPReSS),  was designed to provide access to local government services in a seamless manner across the East Midlands regardless of the actual local authority service provider using a spatial (map) user interface.
