Age Concern collects notes and coins of any currency and old European currency that is no longer valid. Foreign currency can be taken to any Age Concern or Help the Aged shop or to any branch of International Currency Exchange (ICE). Free collections can also be arranged for amounts of 8kg or more. On average we receive £25 per kilo of foreign currency recycled. Should you wish to collect foreign currency on their behalf please contact them and they can provide you a collection tin.
Age Concern receives between 10 pence and £2.00 (including VAT) for each cartridge which they are able to recycle (please see attached list). If you have 15 or more toner or inkjet cartridges* they can collect them free of charge. Simply put them in an old cardboard box and attach our label to the box (available for download: www.helptheaged.org.uk/en-gb/HowYouCanHelp/Recycling/Toners/). They can also supply you with Freepost envelopes for individual inkjet* cartridges.
Age Concern and Help the Aged receive between £3.00-5.00 for each old mobile phone they can recycle. They can be dropped off at any Age Concern or Help the Aged shop or they can arrange a free collection if you have 10 or more 'phones. Alternatively you can send them by Freepost to:

Don't forget to write 'Age Concern and Help the Aged' on a note and pop it into the envelope. This is so that their partner knows who to credit the funds to. Please also include the battery and charger if possible.
