How to find South Derbyshire District Council Civic Offices

M1 From the North or South
At J23a join A42.
Leave A42 at J13, take the 4th exit on the roundabout, signposted Ashby, and straight over the next, signposted A511 Burton.
Follow A511 for about 4.5 miles through Woodville.
At Clock Garage (Kwik-Fit) Island in Woodville, turn left on to A514 signposted Swadlincote.
Pass the Ski Centre and then Morrisons petrol filling station on your left.
Go straight on at the isalnd and over a set of traffic lights 
The Council Offices are on the left-hand side just past the Bus Park and before the next roundabout.

M6 from the North
Leave M6 at junction 15. Follow signs to A50 Stoke on Trent. Then continue along A50 and exit at Toyota roundabout. 
At Toyota roundabout, take exit B5008 Willington. (Journey time approx half an hour from here).
Over railway crossing to set of mini roundabouts. Take the second exit over first roundabout and then the first exit over second, (signposted B5008 Repton), heading underneath the railway bridge. 
Go through Willington, over the River Trent and into Repton. Straight over at next roundabout. (This is the roundabout with the famous market cross).
After approximately 3 miles, turn right into Nether Hall Lane.
Follow road until you reach cross roads (Mason's Arms pub on your left).
Straight over the crossroads and keep following the road past the Railway Inn (Thai Restaurant) on your right. 
At the next roundabout (church on your left) take the fourth exit (right) onto Civic Way.
Pass Somerfield on your left and the Post Office sorting office and bus station also on your left. 
The council offices are on the left-hand side just past the bus station and before the next roundabout.

A38 from the North

leave A38 at at Toyota roundabout (signposted Toyota, A50, Alton Towers).
At Toyota roundabout, take exit B5008 Willington. (Journey time approx half an hour from here).
Over railway crossing to set of mini roundabouts. Take the second exit over first roundabout and then the first exit over second, (signposted B5008 Repton), heading underneath the railway bridge. 13' 00" height restriction here.
Go through Willington, over the River Trent and into Repton. Straight over at next roundabout. (This is the roundabout with the famous market cross).
After approximately 3 miles, turn right into Nether Hall Road.
Follow road until you reach cross roads (Mason's Arms pub on your left).

A38 from the South (for larger vehicles)
Continue along A38 past 1st exit to Burton on Trent (South).
Exit A38 at Clay Mills, sign posted A5121 Burton on Trent (North).
Straight over roundabout, still Burton on Trent A5121 (Ian Shipton Cars on Right).
At next roundabout follow signs to Leicester A511/Town Centre (Second left).
Proceed straight over mini roundabout and turn left at traffic lights, Leicester A511 (also sign posted Swadlincote).
Proceed through traffic lights at Police Station and at next set of lights keep in A511 lane around Queens Hotel, along bridge and straight over traffic lights up hill.
Take 1st exit at next roundabout, sign posted A511 Ashby de la Zouch (also sign posted Swadlincote). There is a Texaco petrol station on right hand side.
You will go past Burton Golf Club on the left-hand side, the Stanhope Arms Hotel then the Chesterfield Arms on the right-hand side.
Half a mile past the Chesterfield Arms turn right onto Springfield Road (sign posted Swadlincote).
Go straight over at next roundabout.
Turn right at T-junction onto Civic Way. The Council Offices are on the left-hand side just past the Bus Park and before the next roundabout.

A38 from the South (Weight restriction: 3.0T & Width Restriction: 7 feet 6 inches)
Exit at signs marked Barton-Under-Needwood, B5016, Walton-Upon-Trent.
At roundabout, take 1st exit. (Takes you back over the A38).
At roundabout, take 2nd exit, follow signs marked Walton Upon Trent.
After a little over half a mile, traffic light controlled narrow bridge (confirms you are on the correct road).
At T-junction, turn left, follow signs marked Barton, Drakelow Power Station.
After approx 135 yards, take first left marked Barton, Drakelow Power Station.
After 2 miles, take first right marked Rosliston, Linton.
After 0.7 miles, continue straight over unmarked crossroads and follow bendy road.
After 1.5 miles, at roundabout, take second exit marked A514, Swadlincote, Derby.
At next Roundabout, take first exit, marked A514, Swadlincote, Derby.
At next Roundabout, take third exit marked A514, Swadlincote, Derby.
At next Roundabout, take second exit marked A514, Swadlincote, Derby and immediately use filter lane for right turn into Civic Offices car park.

M6 Toll travelling from the north and west
Use M6 Toll Junction T5 which channels one (ultimately) onto the A38 Northbound, then follow the instructions above for A38 from the South.

M6 Toll travelling from the south
Use M6 Toll Junction T4 and follow signs for Lichfield/Barton/Derby, until Lichfield is behind you, then follow the instructions above for A38 from the South.

M42 from the South
Leave at junction 11.
Follow signs to A444 Burton on Trent.
Continue through Overseal and Castle Gresley.
Cross 2 roundabouts following signs to Burton on Trent A444 (also signed A514 Derby & Swadlincote).
At the third roundabout (Cadley Hill Roundabout) turn right, sign posted A514 Derby & Swadlincote.
Turn left at next roundabout, then right at next roundabout (both sign posted A514 Derby & Swadlincote).
At the next roundabout take 2nd exit (Civic Way) and immediately use filter lane for right turn into Civic Offices car park.

Parking

There is parking in the car park outside the Civic Offices. Also parking at the Bus Station which is adjacent to the Civic Offices. There is an entrance to the Offices from the Bus Station.

If both of these car parks are full there is parking at Sainsbury’s and at the District Depot on Darklands Road. For the Depot, at the roundabout take the exit before Civic Way and the entrance to the car park is the first turning on the left-hand side.
