Catch it, bin it, kill it!

The flu virus can spread quickly as it can live on hard surfaces for several hours. If you don't catch your coughs or sneezes hygienically in a clean tissue and then throw it away the virus can easily spread from person to person.

To prevent the spread of flu, when you cough or sneeze:

  • Catch It in a clean tissue
  • Bin It and
  • Kill It by washing your hands as soon as you can

Swine flu is a more aggressive form of the virus and further advice is available on the Derbyshire County Council website and on the NHS Choices website.
