Day care is for older people who prefer to continue living in their own homes but need some support during the day, possibly adding to the support they already receive.

Family Support

The Children Act 1989 gives councils a duty to provide Family Support and Day Care to young children who are deemed to be in need. Derbyshire County Council has a number of Family Support Centres.

Family Support Centres offer support to parents / carers, day activities for children in need and help to learn how to deal with personal difficulties.
