Hard to let properties

On occasion and on an ad hoc basis, a particular type of property (in, for example a Sheltered Housing scheme), becomes vacant with facilities that are less attractive to potential tenants.

We strive hard to make sure that all properties meet the national Decent Homes standards and we have little problem in re-letting those properties that become empty.

We also have a "fit to let" standard that outlines the quality of our homes at letting.

Unlike other areas therefore, the problem of "Hard to Let" properties in poor repair or in less popular areas, does not arise here and a formal policy to deal with them has not been needed.  However, all cases are considered on their merits.
