Housing - performance information

Performance Management is integral to our successes in Housing Services. We have a strong performance culture and are aiming to be excellent in all that we do.

Our mission statement says "Through high quality services, delivered in partnership with customers, the provision of well maintained affordable homes that meet the requirements and aspirations of the people of South Derbyshire".

By working with you, our tenants, we seek to continually improve the services we provide. In 2011-12 we asked tenants moving into a Council property for the first time how satisfied they were with the process. Over 95% of tenants told us they were satisfied with the support and information they received from Housing Services to enable them to move into their new home. Over the year our repairs team and partner contractors have carried out over 12,000 repairs and following the works completed overall satisfaction is exceptionally high at 97.9%. Our supported housing service continues to provide housing support to the elderly and vulnerable residents. Our commitment to service provision has been recognised and rewarded with our ongoing achievement of the Telecare Services Association standards (TSA).

We are proud of what we do and will continue to improve our services throughout 2012 and beyond.

STATUS Satisfaction Survey 2008/09

The STATUS Survey is used by all social housing landlords to gather information on how satisfied tenants are with their services. This is a national exercise which is carried out every 2 years. It provides vital information on how well we deliver our services to you and gives us an overall rating of satisfaction. The Government requested the latest survey gauge the views of tenants living in our general purpose stock. 87.9% of these tenants were either satisfied or very satisfied with our services.  In August 2010 we received the results of all 181 local authority housing providers in England.  Our satisfaction rating places us 4th highest in England and 1st in the Midlands.

In addition we also gauged the views of our Sheltered Housing Residents. 94.8% of them stated that they were either satisfied or very satisfied with our services, giving us overall satisfaction of 91.35%. The report on the findings of the survey, along with the data, can be found below for you to view our performance.

This was an excellent result for us in 2009 and we will be carrying out the same survey - the STAR survey in 2012.
