The Horseshoe Trail

The 15-mile Horseshoe Trail is open to horse riders and cyclists and will be of interest to walkers looking for a longer route.

The Horseshoe Trail

Explorers can enjoy the sights and sounds of the wildlife addled Foremark Reservoir, from where the walk starts.  They will pass through memorable milestones such as the Church of St George, in Ticknall, and the attractive hamlet of Milton.

The route encompasses six farms, soaks in Repton Park and Robin Wood and revels in the beauty of villages such as Ticknall, Milton and Ingleby.

Stories abound in the leaflet, such as the Ticknall Lock-up which, housed vagrants, drunks and paupers on a temporary basis in the 1800's.

A colourful leaflet showcasing the route has been published and is available at a price of just 50p from Swadlincote Tourist Information Centre, in West Street, Swadlincote, or by telephoning 01283 222848.

The leaflet is also available as a low resolution download from the bottom of this page under 'Related documents'.
