Assistance for local sports people.
Are you a group who would like to develop sports activities and get more people involved in physical activity? Do you need a small amount of money to make it happen?
Derbyshire County Council is offering Sports Action Grants of up to £1,000 to groups to provide activities that:
There will be 3 rounds over the next 12 months, with approximately £50,000 available per round. The first round will close 09 December 2011.

The Scheme is designed to provide assistance to talented local sports people, so that they can better realise their potential at county, regional, national and international levels.
Depending on their level of achievement to date, individual applicants will be eligible for one or both of the following:
The provision of a Sports Pass, which allows free use of certain sports facilities for training purposes at Green Bank or Etwall Leisure Centre.
A small financial grant for training and coaching expenses, travel costs or the purchase of specialist equipment.

A new scheme has been launched in the county which will benefit sports coaches across our district. Coaches can apply for up to £200 or 50 per cent of the cost of recognised Coach Education courses, whichever is the lowest amount.
