Friday Night will certainly be Music Night this week as local music groups join together for the South Derbyshire District Council Chairman's Charity Concert.
Gresley Male Voice Choir will join forces with young musicians from the South Derbyshire Music Centre to present a varied programme with something to suit all tastes. The Beacon Brass Band and Swing Band, together with the Symphonic Brass Ensemble will showcase some of their exciting repertoire, and Young Voices - the music centre's popular children's choir - completes the line-up.
Says Cllr Mick Bale, Chairman of South Derbyshire District Council Chairman, “During my year of office I have thoroughly enjoyed the performances I have attended of the South Derbyshire Music Centre. As my Civic Year draws to a close, I would like to invite as many of the people as possible to join me on at 7pm on Friday 16 May. The concert will be held in The Coton Centre in Tamworth which is an auditorium of tiered seating for 500 people. The concert is for my Civic Charity, the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance”
Tickets cost £6.00 for adult and £3.00 for children. They are available from Dawn Bircher at the Civic Offices on 01283 59 5721 and from the Music Centre on 01283 762507 or at the door on Friday.
