Local talent

Cllr Pat Murray, Vice Chairman of South Derbyshire District Council, will be helping to promote a local artist at the Midlands launch of his debut album on Sunday 9 November, 2008.

With his Consort, Miss Sandra Roberts, the Vice Chairman will be joining Thomas Spencer-Wortley at The Pavilion at Branston Golf and Country Club at 6pm where he will be signing copies of his new “Believe” album.

Says Cllr Murray, “Thomas spent all his early life in South Derbyshire before he left to study music at the Trinity College of Music in London. He gained a Bmus (Hons) degree and then a post-graduate diploma at the Royal Academy of Music.”

“He has been described as a singer who breaks the mould of classical cross-over music with his unique voice and his ability to connect with people. I am proud that South Derbyshire has produced such a talented artiste.”

At the event, Thomas will be singing tracks from his album. The album includes favourites such as “You raise me up” and “The Rose” as well as original material.
