This year it is even easier to register to vote in South Derbyshire with a new way for voters to confirm details printed on their electoral registration form by telephone or by the internet. Letters reminding people to send back their electoral registration forms to the District Council have just been delivered.
Says Frank McArdle, South Derbyshire’s Electoral Registration Officer, “Historically, South Derbyshire has achieved the highest response rate in Derbyshire and last year 98.5% of people registered to vote. This year we would like to improve even this impressive figure but we need people to help us achieve this by returning their forms. It’s easy.
“If there are no changes to your electoral registration form you can phone the special number or use the internet. If there are any changes the forms need to be posted back to the Elections Office at the Civic Offices in the pre-paid envelope. If you haven’t received a form yet, please contact the Elections Office on 01283 595723 or elections@south-derbys.gov.uk”
