There will be a photocall at 12.30 pm on Saturday 2 August, 2008 at Rosliston Forestry Centre where staff in special National Lottery Award tee shirts will be inviting people onto a climbing wall, to take part in laser combat, shoot arrows and vote for Get Active in The Forest for the final of the National Lottery Awards
There will be six things to do for a fiver at Rosliston Forestry Centre on Saturday 2 August, 2008 from 12 noon until 5pm. The extra activity is voting for Get Active in The Forest in the National Lottery Awards.
For along with the archery, laser combat, orienteering, skateboarding and a climbing wall, people will be asked to use a laptop to vote Get Active in The Forest the best Lottery funded sports project in the country.
Says Debbie Chesterman of Get Active in The Forest, “We are putting South Derbyshire and The National Forest on the map. We have made it to the final three best sports projects and with the help of local people, we could be voted the best in Britain.
“We will have laptops for people to vote at our Five for a Fiver session at Rosliston Forestry Centre on Saturday 2 August, 2008. To make it easy to vote, staff will be wearing teeshirts with the web address for votes.”
People in Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Leicestershire and all over Britain are also invited to vote for Get Active in The Forest. Debbie Chesterman continues, “Get Active in The Forest is a fun way to get fit. We have activities which range from Five for a Fiver for more energetic people to the more graceful tai chi. We have walks from pubs, walks from surgeries, walks for people with pushchairs.
We’ll do any activities we can think of to help people get healthy and that includes laser combat and clay pigeon shooting.”
