Something in the water

As Cllr Mick Bale’s year in the office of Chairman of South Derbyshire District Council draws to a close, he is making his eighth civic visit to a lady in South Derbyshire who is over a hundred years old.

On Thursday 15 May he will be going with his consort Mrs June Bale to Woodville Care Home to join in the 101 birthday celebration for Mrs Doreen Bloor.

Says Cllr Bale, “I have had a wonderful year getting out and about all over the District and meeting so many wonderful people. It has been a great pleasure to meet so many ladies who are over a hundred.

“We all know that South Derbyshire is special. There must be something extra special in the water here. Something in our District is helping our ladies live to a very good age.”
