Election of the new Chairman of South Derbyshire District Council

There will be a photocall at 7pm on Thursday 29 May, 2008 at the Civic Offices in Swadlincote with the new Chairman of South Derbyshire District Council following the Civic Council

The new Chairman of South Derbyshire District Council will be elected at the special Civic Council meeting at the Town Hall on The Delph in Swadlincote on Thursday 29 May, 2008.

There will be a special photocall at the Civic Offices at 7pm where Cllr Mick Bale, the current Chairman will hand over his chain of office.

At the Civic Council the work of six members of staff who have achieved twenty years service for the people of South Derbyshire will be commended. The staff who have worked at the Council for two decades are office cleaner Tina Betteridge, group accountant Robert Boss, Andy Lakin, duty officer at Etwall Leisure Centre who has twenty years service with the Joint Management Committee, graphic designer Caroline Payne, electoral services officer Brenda Reed and cleansing operative George Sanderson. Robert Boss and Brenda Reed will be attending the ceremony.
