There will be a photocall at 12.15pm on Monday 6 October, 2008 at the beginning of Customer Service Week where Cllr Heather Wheeler, Leader of South Derbyshire District Council will be working on the switchboard at the Civic Offices

On Monday 6 October, 2008, Cllr Heather Wheeler, Leader of South Derbyshire District Council will be working on the switchboard at the Civic Offices.

Says Cllr Heather Wheeler, "I have lived for a long time in South Derbyshire and so I know the District well. Working on the switchboard will give me an added insight into the way in which local people look to the Council for all kind of help.

"At South Derbyshire our front-line Customer Service staff can offer advice on a range of subjects, from claiming the extra help from attendance allowance so that you can remain independent in your own home to examining the intricacies of planning applications. I have been a Councillor here since May 1995 and so I know a great deal about the work of the Council. Hopefully that I will have enough knowledge to provide the “one stop shop” help that Customer Services staff provide."
