Press release and photocall 8 May 2008

There will be a photocall on Friday 9 May at 11 am at the Civic Offices in Swadlincote with Ros Baker in her flowered bra

Fortunately the weather’s turned hot as Ros Baker is getting down to a bra to help to raise sponsorship for treatment of breast cancer.

Ros, who works at South Derbyshire District Council, is taking part in the 26 mile Playtex Moonwalk on Saturday 17 May at Hyde Park in London to raise funds for breast cancer charities. She will be joining 15,000 ladies and gentlemen who will be wearing decorated bras for the event. She hopes to raise at least £500.

Says Ros, "My daughter Liz got me into this and I will be walking with her. We’ve gone with a lilac and pink theme with a lovely little number decorated with flowers. I'm looking forward to joining people who have opted for this year's major theme of Bollywood. I can’t imagine how wonderful and colourful they will look."

Ros continues, "The customer service staff at the Civic Offices, known as Lilac Ladies, have been raising money all year and are still fund-raising for the Cancer Unit at Burton Hospital. We have raised nearly thousand pounds and our Council cleaners took part in a double circuit from the Civic Offices, along William Nadins Way to Heathcote Road and raised over a thousand pounds for the Breakthrough Breast Cancer charity. We are all grateful to everyone who has supported us already and I would welcome any more sponsorship so that I can help those women and their families affected by breast cancer."
