News release 14 July, 2008

Titania with a donkeyBe part of something very special which is happening at Rosliston Forestry Centre on Friday 8 August, 2008.

For if you go down to the woods today, you will find a brand new theatre hidden in the trees. And in this magical place on Friday 8 August, 2008 you can enjoy the first ever performance in this enchanting arena.

Says Cllr John Grant, Chairman of the Rosliston Forestry Centre Partnership, "We are celebrating the opening of the new Forest Arena with the perfect play, Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. People of all ages can enjoy this mixture of intrigue, love and magic. It’s the ideal venue for a play which is set on the night when fairies are out and about and lovers take refuge in the woods. The play will show how the course of true love never did run smooth. I do hope that the people of South Derbyshire will take this opportunity to see this theatrical classic right on their doorstep. The Arena is a wonderful addition to the facilities in the District and I am sure we will soon see an exciting and diverse programme of events that will suit all tastes"

Midsummer Night’s Dream is being performed by the professional actors of Quantum Theatre. Tickets cost £9 for adults, £6.50 for children and £7.50 for concessions. A family ticket for two adults and two children is also available for £25. The performance begins at 7pm and food and drinks are available before the performance at the Hub Café at Rosliston Forestry Centre

To enjoy a night to remember, please book your tickets now by phoning 01283 519 119 or 0845 450 5157.
