Free Tree Scheme

Our Free Tree Scheme is run in partnership with The National ForestNorth West Leicestershire District Council and East Staffordshire Borough Council.

Applications for 2017 are open between Tuesday, September 19 and Monday, October 23, and this year’s species (pdf, 66kb) are cherry plum, hazel, whitebeam and holly

As in previous years you can apply for two trees per household, or 10 if you are applying on behalf of a school, community group or organisation (which must be based in South Derbyshire).

All trees are two years old and approximately 30cm to 60cm (up to two feet) high. Check our information on how to plant (pdf, 258kb) and look after them before you apply.

Our ‘giveaway’ events will take place between 10am and 2pm on Thursday, November 30 and Saturday, December 2, with further details to be confirmed to successful applicants via email. You must be available to collect on one of these dates.
