Derby Housing Market Area Employment Land Study

South Derbyshire District Council, Derby City Council and Amber Valley Borough Council have jointly commissioned an 'Employment Land Review' of the whole Derby Housing Market Area (HMA).

Its purpose is to consider the HMA's employment land requirements up to 2026 (the period covered by the published East Midlands Regional Plan) and to review the quantity and quality of the HMA's existing and allocated employment land supply. It was not the purpose of this report to identify new or additional employment sites.

This report forms part of the District's 'evidence base' for the forthcoming Core Strategy and will help to formulate the development 'options' to be included in the emerging plan.  At this point, no conclusions have been made about the report's conclusions or recommendations.  These will be considered through the LDF process.

The Employment Land Review does not pre-empt the further consideration of employment land of sites that may be required to meet employment development needs.
