Local Development Scheme

This Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out how the Council will progress towards adopting a Local Development Framework (LDF) in accordance with the requirements of the Planning & Compulsory Purchase Act 2004. The documents contained in the LDF set out the policies and proposals for the use and development of land and the new style Local Development Documents will over time replace the South Derbyshire Local Plan and its supporting documents.

Update on Local Development Scheme

Following the Government's proposal to introduce the Localism Bill, we have released an indicative timetable that supercedes LDS3 which is shown below.  The new timetable can be viewed here or downloaded from the bottom of the page under 'Related documents'.

For more information about ongoing changes to the planning system, see our Planning Policy home page.
