Liberation Day

Liberation Day, now in its 16th year, is one of those events that gets better with age.

Aimed at residents of the District aged 55 and over, its purpose is to provide advice and information on a range of topics, including how to deal with doorstep callers, fire safety, mobility, fitness, health, pensions and so much more.

It may have a serious message, but what sets it apart is its party like atmosphere. Entertainment is provided, with this years theme being 'Remembering the Good Old Days'.

Exhibitors include the police, Neighbourhood Watch, Age UK, South Derbyshire CVS and Careline, to name but a few.

Liberation Day, which is free, will this year be held on Wednesday May 16, 2018.

Admission is free but by ticket only and numbers are limited, so don’t forget to telephone 01283 595795 to register for your place.

Registration lines will open on Monday, March 5 at 10am and close on Monday, April 23. Admission is limited, meaning pre-booking is essential. Transport to and from the event will be provided free of charge for those who need it.
