Free Tree Scheme

Our Free Tree Scheme is run in partnership with The National ForestNorth West Leicestershire District Council and East Staffordshire Borough Council.

Applications are now open

This year you can apply for up to six trees per household, or up to 60 if you are applying on behalf of a school, community group or organisation (which must be based in South Derbyshire).

To celebrate 20 years of twinning between South Derbyshire and Toyota City types of maple and cherry are included this year which are trees of cultural significance to Japan.

All trees are two years old and approximately 30cm to 60cm (up to two feet) high. Check our information on how to plant (pdf, 171kb) to see what trees are available this year and to decide what would be most suitable for your site.

Collection dates this year will be Thursday, November 29 and Saturday, December 1. We will email you to confirm your allocation, collection time and venue in early November.
