Swadlincote Remembrance Day Service and Parade
This year our commemorations in Swadlincote will commence at 9.15am with a service in Hill Street Baptist Church.
Following the service at approximately 10.15am, the Royal British Legion and the1211 (Swadlincote and District) Squadron ATC together with other uniformed groups and members of the public, will assemble and parade through Swadlincote town centre to the memorial gates at Eureka Park on Midland Road.
A short service of commemoration will take place outside the gates at 10.50am.
The Last Post will be followed by 2 minutes silence at 11.00am, after which there will be a formal wreath laying.
If you would like to lay your own tribute, the new Memorial Garden inside the gates will be open for you to pause a while and place a cross, wreath, flowers or even a Derbyshire rock as a reminder of your loved ones.
Everyone is welcome to join the Royal British Legion and 1211 (Swadlincote & District) Squadron ATC who will be providing refreshments from their head quarters on Eureka Park.
Later in the day another service and beacon lighting will take place. Please follow this link for further information on the national tribute - Battle’s Over.
