Gold Card is a travel and discount bus pass scheme, administered by Derbyshire County Council, for older people and people with certain disabilities.
Gold Card allows you to travel free, off-peak on local buses throughout the whole of England, get discounts at more than 700 shops and other local businesses and to borrow at all Derbyshire libraries. Gold Card holders can also use Community Transport Dial-a-Bus services for a flat rate fare.

How to apply for the first time
There are two easy ways to apply for your Gold Card.
1. Apply in person
You can apply for a Gold Card by visiting our offices with your completed application form. (pdf, 76kb)
You can also have your photograph taken at our offices - no appointment is needed.
Photography drop-in opening times:
Monday, Tuesday and Thursday between 8.45am and 4.30pm
Wednesday between 9.30am and 4.30pm
Friday between 8.45am and 4pm
If you'd prefer, you can also pick up a Gold Card application form from our offices.
2. Apply by post
You can also apply for a Gold Card by sending your completed application form (pdf, 76kb) with photocopies of your documents and a passport-size photograph to:

Your card will be sent to you by post.
You can renew your Gold Card if your current card has expired or is about to expire in the next two months, if you qualify on on the grounds of either pension age or permanent disability (card issued for five years). Do not apply to renew your card before that time as the renewal will not be accepted.

There is a £5 charge for a replacement card.
